Duncan, OK — A competitive field battled for coveted spots into final qualifying on Monday at The Territory Golf & Country Club, where six players advanced from the U.S. Open Local Qualifier under favorable spring conditions.
Co-medalists Jacob Harper and Luke Morgan led the way with matching rounds of 4-under-par 68, setting the pace atop a tightly packed leaderboard. Both players caught fire on the back nine posting 33’s to earn medalist honors.
Just one shot back at 3-under-par 69, Presten Richardson and Preston Albee (a) secured their spots with matching rounds. Preston Stanley and Declan Dent (a) claimed the final qualifying positions at 2-under-par 70 after matching birdies in a 3 for 2 playoff that last two holes.
Conditions in Duncan played a role in the day’s scoring, as players competed under partly sunny skies with temperatures reaching the low 70s and steady south winds throughout the afternoon.
With six players advancing, attention now turns to Final Qualifying, where a place in the field at the U.S. Open Championship will be on the line.
