Each year some OJGT invitational events are held. In a standard tour schedule there are OJGT TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP: This special event is held the week after the final regular season OJGT tournament. Invitation is players who have entered at least 2 regular season events. The Tour Championship is a 36-hole stroke play tournament. Awards are given to the top four finishers in each division, and season-ending honors are also presented after the close of play. Normally the AJGA will award PBE status to this event according to their standards. Final points are awarded at this event and the Red River Team will be set the next day. OJGT/TJGT RED RIVER TEAM CUP CHALLENGE: At the end of October each season the OJGT plays an invitational event with and against the Texas Junior Golf Tour and select players from Mexico. It is called the Red River Team Challenge. The Red River is played at historic Dornick Hills Country Club in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Each team regularly brings 56 of its best players and an individual and team competition is held. The OJGT selects its team with strict criteria based upon total season points rankings as well as the exemption list below. Commonly the AJGA gives PBE stars for top finishers in this event. The Red River is ranked very highly by the NJGS. 1. All OJGT members who are ranked in the top 100 nationally by Footjoy/Titleist or NJGS as of September 1st of that season. Note: All exempt invitees must be a member in good standing of the OJGT for that season. The invitees must have entered at least two OJGT events that regular season. Exemption invitees will be notified as soon after September 1st as possible that they may play for the OJGT. They will have two weeks to commit to playing in the red River Team Cup Challenge for the OJGT.
