Esterline, Schartz Claim Titles at OJGT Prairie West Spring Classic

The 2026 OJGT Prairie West Spring Classic concluded Sunday at Prairie West Golf Course in Weatherford, as players battled through classic spring conditions in western Oklahoma.

Sunday’s final round was played under typical April conditions in Weatherford, featuring mild spring temperatures in the low-to-mid 70s with steady winds—a common challenge on the prairie layout. Breezy conditions throughout the day added difficulty, particularly on exposed holes, requiring players to control ball flight and remain patient.

After two days of competition, Bronx Esterline (Andover, KS) claimed the Boys Division title with a two-day total of 147, winning on the first playoff hole over Luke Newton (Edmond) and Seth Gilliam (McAlester). Esterline’s par on the first playoff hole gave him his first-ever OJGT win.

In the Girls Division, Avery Schartz (Wichita, KS) delivered the low round of the tournament on Sunday with a 68 to finish at 140, earning a decisive victory. Her final round separated her from the field, highlighted by a strong bogey free round on Sunday.

Ximena Sarinana (Newton, KS) and Dia Singh (Bixby) finished runner-up at 151 rounding out a competitive leaderboard in the Girls Division.
