The Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour concluded its summer schedule with the Lakeside Summer Classic on August 3-4 at Lakeside Golf Course, where competitors battled through another stretch of hot, humid Oklahoma summer weather. Temperatures climbed into the 90s both days with high humidity, providing a challenging test for the field as players completed 36 holes of competition.
In the Boys Division, Wyatt Basford of Tuttle earned medalist honors with an impressive 36-hole total of 9-under-par 131. After opening with a 66, Basford closed with a tournament-best 65 to finish four shots clear of the field and capture his first ever OJGT title. Kael League of Enid finished runner-up at 5-under-par 135, while David Shepherd of Enid claimed third place at 4-under-par 136.
The Girls Division featured another strong performance as Bryton Burkhalter of Edmond claimed the championship with an even-par total of 140. Burkhalter opened the tournament with a stellar 67 before finishing with a 73 to secure an eight-shot victory. Maggie Ruby of Stillwater finished second at 148, while Kylie Fisher of Tahlequah placed third with a two-round total of 150.
