The OGA is excited to announce several changes coming to our tournament programing in 2025:
- Junior boys’ registrants ages 12-15 in the OGA Junior Championship will have a choice of two different divisions when registering: Open Division and Boys 12-15. Participants in the Open Division will have to compete against the older boys to reach the match play portion. Everyone in the Open division has the ability to compete for the OGA Junior state title, and the winner will receive an exemption into the USGA U.S. Junior Amateur.
- OGA will now crown a Mid-Amateur Player of the Year.
- Super Senior age has been adjusted to participants 65 & older. This impacts the Senior Stroke Play and newly added division in Senior State Amateur (see below).
- The Senior State Amateur will now include a Super Senior Division. Super Senior participants will play a Stroke Play Qualifier then be cut to top 8 for Match Play. Super Senior participants will play one match per day. Entry for Super Senior portion of Senior State Amateur will be $200.
- Several events will be raised to offset increased course costs/include carts:
- OGA Junior Championship entry raised to $180.
- OJGT entry fee per event will be raised to $150 per event.
- OGA Stroke Play will be raised to $250, but now includes carts for all participants.
- State Amateur Championship will be raised to $250 with carts included at the Championship proper (qualifiers excluded).
- Champion in the Senior State Amateur will be exempt from local qualifying for the USGA U.S. Senior Open in the upcoming year (2025 champion exempt in 2026).
We are excited for the 2025 season. Hope to see you out playing!
