Will McDonald is the 111th State Amateur Champion at Southern Hills

The 111th State Amateur Championship was held on July 10-12 at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa. Will McDonald of Oklahoma City is the champion after defeating Ryder Cowan of Edmond 2 & 1 in the final match. There was unbelievable demand for this event with 144 players qualifying at Lincoln Park (West) on June 26th and 144 qualifying at Muskogee Golf Club on June 29th. I There were 31 qualifying spots at both sites. This is the premier amateur tournament in the state of Oklahoma and we were overwhelmed with the interest. We would like to thank Cary Cozby, Russ Myers, Nick Sidorakis, and the membership of Southern Hills Country Club for allowing this championship to be played.
