Mark Budler...

EDMOND - The OGA would like to introduce and welcome Mark Budler to the Oklahoma Golf Association as the Tournament Director. Mark comes to us from Muskogee Country Club where he served as the General Manager and head golf professional for the past 2 years. You will see Mark at all of our events this year!

Tournament Entry Information...

EDMOND - The OGA and OJGT are changing to different tournament entry technology.  The name of the new software is USGA Tournament Management.  It has been in clubs for the past year and is being adapted for Golf Association entries.  The OGA is in the process of testing the software and we should be able to have it available the first of January.  Each player will need to register with the new software.  There will be detailed instructions when the software is activated.

Oklahoma Open...

EDMOND - Max McGreevy is the 2017 Oklahoma Open champion! McGreevy fired a course record 61 in the opening round and followed with a 64 on Saturday to win the tournament by 5 over low amateur Cody Burrows. The tournament was reduced to a 36 hole event due to the weather situation on Friday. The tournament was played August 24-26 at Oak Tree Country Club. BROKEN ARROW - The Mid-Amateur is complete! Congratulations to Rob Laird in capturing his first OGA Championship! Laird defeated fellow Cedar Ridge member Chris Noel by 4 strokes. Cedar Ridge Country Club hosted the Mid-Amateur Championship on July 31-August 1. State Amateur Championship...

TULSA - The State Amateur Championship is complete. Congratulations to Brendon Jelley on capturing his 3rd championship in 4 years. Jelley defeated Cody Burrows 4 and 3. Historic Southern Hills Country Club hosted the event on July 17-19. This has been a wonderful tournament and we like to thank Nick Sidorakis, Cary Cozby, staff and membership of Southern Hills Country Club for everything they did this week. Senior Stroke Play Championship...

SHAWNEE - The Senior Stroke Play Championship was in Shawnee on July 10-11 at the Shawnee Country Club. Congratulations to Jon Valuck (won playoff), Senior Stroke Play Champion and Jack Steinmeyer, Super Senior Stroke Play Champion. The final round is complete. We had 2 divisions, Senior and Super Senior. The weather was great and we want to thank Derek Clayborn, members and staff at Shawnee Country Club for a fun tournament! Stroke Play Championship...

MUSKOGEE - The Stroke Play Championship is complete with Brady Richardson capturing the championship over Mason Overstreet in a one hole playoff. The event was at Muskogee Country Club on June 26-28. Players who scored 149 or better qualified for the final round. The OGA would like to thank Mark Budler, staff and membership for an tremendous event. The new clubhouse is outstanding with great food! This was a 54 hole stroke play event with a cut to the low 30 and ties after 36 holes. The weather was great all week! USGA Rule Change for 2017...

FAR HILLS, NJ -The USGA and The R&A announced the introduction of a new Local Rule that eliminates the penalty when a ball is accidentally moved on the putting green. The Local Rule will be available for any committee in charge of a competition to use starting Jan. 1, 2017. It will be adopted by the USGA and The R&A in all of their championships, qualifying competitions and international matches. For more information, click here.
